Purpose: To aid our school in Brewerville, Liberia,
and foreign students; educate deserving young people in North Carolina
to serve on the foreign field (when available); thus, we keep alive
the work of the late Corn Pair Thomas, a North Carolinian, who labored
as a nurse and teacher in Liberia for more than 35 years.

Name: Deacons’ Wives Fellowship
Purpose: To give aid to the maintenance and development of the J. J. Johnson
Baptist Assembly.
Responsibilities:

Enlist deacons’ wives who are members or affiliated with the
Woman’s Convention.

Send a letter from the Chairperson and/or Co-Chairperson to
the office by March 31, unless otherwise notified. This letter will
be sent to members and other persons whom you suggest. Send with the
letter the addresses of persons to be contacted to share in giving.
-
Support the program/ministry of the Woman’s Convention.
-
Plan a program for sharing during the Annual Session.
-
Meet at least once during the year (e.g., before or after
One-Day Session or Statewide Leaders’ Workshop).
-
Function at the pleasure of the Woman’s Convention and according
to its direction.
Name: Foreign Missions Year-Round
Purpose: To support the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission objectives in
its mission stations, salaries, hospitals, clinics, missionaries, and
other projects deemed necessary.

Name: Health and Human Services Year-Round
Purpose: To aid in supplying First Aid supplies for the Woman’s Convention
and the Minnie C. Lyon Infirmary. To encourage effective usage of community
health resources to promote healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities:

Establish an extended committee to include nurses in Baptist
churches in our state. Secure a Master List that includes names, addresses,
telephone numbers,
-
Develop and
implement an Annual Plan of Service. Submit to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer
by September 15.
-
Establish specific
goals and objectives.
-
Develop Health
and Human brochures.
-
Provide presentations
at all state meetings, when programmed. Plan topics to be included
at each.
-
Assign a “nurse
on duty” for each state-wide meeting, inclusive of Youth Bible Camp
(3 weeks) and Leadership Training Conference.
-
Plan and implement
a mini Health Fair for the Annual Session in July. Submit specific
plans, needs by May 15 to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer.
-
Secure resource
health materials to be distributed at state meetings. (Complement
designated topics, etc.) Secure materials ahead of time for our office
to include in registration packet.
-
Establish two
annual meeting dates. (Other meetings may be held.)
-
Recommend to
the Executive Secretary-Treasurer supplies for the Convention and
Minnie C. Lyons Infirmary, J. J. Johnson Baptist Assembly.

Prepare and send
a letter to the office by March 31 to be sent to the publics for contributions.

Name: India Leper Colony Year-Round
Purpose: To give support through the Loft Carey Baptist Foreign Mission
Convention for repairs on the Leper Clinic in Karnal, India, and sends
financial aid for those in India who are suffering and dying from the
dreaded disease, leprosy.

Purpose: To solicit new subscriptions through the year as a means of improving
the technique of meaningful devotions and to promote the art of effective
worship through topics for discussions in missionary circles and groups
throughout the State.
